What are steroids?
There are 3 types of steroidal drugs, Anabolic, Androgenic and Cortico.
1. Anabolic - This is the steroid that most people are familiar with. Anabolic steroids are similar to the male hormone, testosterone. They have high nitrogen retaining qualities, which allows body cells to go through protein synthesis faster, which allows body cells to reproduce even faster, which is why body builders use them, to increase muscle mass.
2. Androgenic - This steroid can be used medically for those whom have stopped growing. Androgenic steroids increases growth in skeletal muscles, bones and vocal chords.
3. Cortico - This steroid is used to control injuries. It is used in regulating inflammation and can be used to treat diseases such as asthma, eczema, allergies, arthritis, colitis and kidney disease. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/9/124462003_7e8cc1d5ac.jpg Go back to homepage
